When your kids are ready to head off to full-time schooling it may be a sigh of relief for you and your budget. If your work schedule allows you to work during their school hours, then you are set and don’t have to pay for child care anymore. For many parents, though, before or after school childcare comes into play so that they can get to and from work for the daily 9-5. Continue reading “10 After School Childcare Options”
I have to start this post by admitting a secret to you all. I am not the best at eating my veggies( I fake it in front of my kids). I have major issues with texture and my parents let me be fairly picky growing up.
I love to eat healthily and know how to eat healthily but definitely, fall short in the veggie area. In comes the spinach smoothies! They help me achieve higher veggie servings. Spinach smoothies also help kiddos that are picky eaters and aren’t getting enough veggies( not just 1 crazy lady). Continue reading “Kid Friendly Berry Spinach Smoothies”
As August comes to an end it is time to get ready for back to school and all that comes with it. Mornings are generally a rush to get out the door and most families don’t have time for a sit-down breakfast. Of course, we all want our kids to eat healthily and have the brainpower and energy for their day at school( that way they can become a doctor, president, astronaut or whatever they can dream up!). Summer break is such a great and memorable time for kids. Sleeping in, staying up late and playing outside all day long! Us mom’s get to sleep in a bit and enjoy a more leisurely pace throughout the day( who am I kidding we usually get up anyways to get things done and spend the day trying to keep the “I’m bored” comments to a minimum). Continue reading “How To Prepare To Go Back To School”
After you have kids it may be a little intimidating to head out to a restaurant like you used to. It’s a little terrifying that your little angel will scream and throw a tantrum right in the middle of the place and there you will be either the crazy yelling parent or the trying to calm it down but it’s not working parent. Both alternatives sound awful so the easy choice is just not to go out. But if you don’t take them with you then they won’t learn those social setting skills.
As I sit here with my morning cup of coffee, I knew I needed to share what has worked for me in terms of working efficiently from home with 2 little ones. It is not easy! Your schedule will get messed up but that is just the law of having children. So, if you can give it your best effort to plan well and then roll with it when life happens and you can’t stay on schedule. I think you can find a nice balance of working efficiently while still being an awesome mommy! Continue reading “How To Work Efficiently”
These muffins do a great job of getting things moving again. They are soooo delicious! We eat them as a breakfast on the go option all the time just because we love them! The buttermilk makes them really moist and the banana gives them just the right sweetness.
Having a routine is crucial to the first couple months of having a newborn and a toddler at home. As a stay-at-home mom, your days begin to blur if you do not have a set schedule. It’s something I have been failing at for the last few weeks and it’s starting to drive me crazy and the kids too!
So I decided to do something about it and what the something is, is a schedule…It has been amazing, we are up out of the house and productive and enjoying our days together. Continue reading “SAHM Routine For Baby And Toddler”
I am writing this post as I put this routine back into action in my own life. I absolutely hate waking up and feeling stressed about the day! How am I going to get 2 (3 at the moment) kids dressed and ready and attempt to make myself look like a human to get out of the house at a decent time. Without leaving my house a chaotic mess to come home to. It’s been feeling slightly impossible lately. Continue reading “How To Start The Day Feeling Great! (mommy nighttime routine)”
Little tiny babies will shock you with how they can be little ninjas and work their way out of swaddle blankets in a flash. The “Moro reflex” is the startle reflex all babies are born with as a protective measure. What it equals out to in modern day is a baby who startles itself awake and a tired mommy or daddy who has to get that little one back to sleep. In comes the centuries-old tradition of swaddling. To keep the baby wrapped tightly so they feel safe and secure as if they were in the womb. Continue reading “5 Swaddle Blankets that will actually get your baby to sleep through the night!”
